It’s A Veteran’s Life

The mission of It's A Veteran's Life is to share my story, but also the stories of other veterans and their families. In particular, I want to shed light on how life in the military impacts both veterans and their families by listening to the stories of both groups.

Michael Turbyfill

Host

Michael is a US Army Veteran. He was stationed in Fort Benning Ga. While in the 3rd Infantry Division. He was deployed in support of operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009. After separating from the Army in 2012 Michael has spent the last 10+ years in the trucking industry. To pass the time he became a huge fan of podcast. In 2024 Michael was on a discord call with two of his friends “Star” and Brad. In this call they “dared” Michael to start a podcast. Shortly after Michael recorded his first episode (which is still posted) where he described some of his experiences. Michael was unsure if he was going to seriously pursue hosting a podcast. A few days after posting the 1st episode, Michael received an email stating “this podcast and your story has given me the inspiration to reach out and receive the help needed to improve my life and deal with some of my issues” (for privacy reasons no credit will be given to the sender… but THANK YOU!)

After receiving this message Michael set out to grow ‘It’s A Veteran’s Life’ and share the stories and experiences of all veterans.
Over the last year Michael has held several interviews, and uploaded these conversations to several podcast providers as well as YouTube. While it has been a difficult journey navigating social media and gathering listeners and those who want tell their stories. Michael is just as dedicated as ever to meet more veterans and share their experiences.
